Travel-Size and TSA-Friendly Sun and Bug Protection

Carry-On Ready and TSA Compliant

Let’s quickly review the rules. The TSA liquids rule allows containers of 3.4 ounces (100 ml) or less in your carry on bag, all fitting inside a single quart size bag.  Our 3 oz  mineral sunscreen tubes in this collection are perfect for your carry-on, as they are less than 3.4 oz and therefore compliant.  It’s always best to check the travel requirements first, well ahead of your departure date, so your favorite outdoor essentials don’t get tossed at the security checkpoint for being the wrong size. A little planning, and you’ll be good to go. Slip a 3 oz tube of YAYA’s healthy mineral sunscreen in your personal item or check-on bag and you are covered the moment you land.  No waiting on checked luggage for your sun protection, and no last minute drugstore run in an unfamiliar city.  Usually bugs like mosquitos and ticks are not an issue in airports or big cities, so don’t worry - you will have access to your natural, DEET-free bug repellent as soon as your checked luggage arrives. Packing YAYA’s 4 oz repellents in a sealed plastic bag helps to ensure no leakage, as well as tightening the sprayer caps to ensure a complete and tight seal. With these tips, you’ll be fully protected, prepared and compliant.

Why travelers reach for these sizes

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these products TSA approved for carry-on bags?
Every product in this collection is ideal for travel and portability, but they are not all TSA-compliant for placing in your carry-on bag. The 3 oz mineral sunscreen tubes are compliant, while the 4 oz bug repellent sprays are recommended to be packed in your checked luggage as they exceed the 3.4 oz liquid limit. Always check that caps are tightly sealed, and the product is put inside a sealed plastic bag. Always check current TSA guidance before you fly, since rules can change.
How long does a 4 oz bottle of repellent last?
For most travelers a 4 ounce bottle covers a long weekend to a full week of regular outdoor use for one or two people. If you plan to spend all day outside every day, consider packing two four ounce bottles, or upgrade to an 8 oz size bottle so everyone stays covered with no worries of running out mid-vacation. For extended trips, we recommend packing the 16 oz bottle or 8 oz bottle.
Can I bring these on international trips?
Yes. The 3.4 ounce carry-on standard is used by many countries, and our 3 oz mineral sunscreen tubes travel well in carry-on. For bug protection, you will need to add your travel-friendly sized 4 oz bug repellent to your checked bags, or you can pack larger sizes from our full collections if you prefer to stock up for a longer trip.
